]]> http://arthritisawarenesswear.com/blog2/2010/09/28/new-discussion-board/feed/ 0 There is a cure (or something close to a cure) for RA… http://arthritisawarenesswear.com/blog2/2009/07/29/there-is-a-cure-or-something-close-to-a-cure/ http://arthritisawarenesswear.com/blog2/2009/07/29/there-is-a-cure-or-something-close-to-a-cure/#comments Wed, 29 Jul 2009 23:28:39 +0000 Nikki http://arthritisawarenesswear.com/blog2/?p=30 There absolutely HAS to be a cure for RA.  I can’t vouch for the other forms of arthritis, but I can for RA.  There is a 90% chance of remission in pregnancy and doctors know WHY.  The “why” is because the baby produces a hormone, much like prednisone.  These drug companies can replicate so many things…so, why not the hormone that the baby produces?  Right?!  There is just absolutely NO money in the cure (or the infusion/pill to put the RA into remission), so why would the drug companies want to produce that medicine for us when they can get away with charging $25,000 for ONE infusion of Rituxan?

I’d absolutely love some feedback from pregnant women and women who are now parents! It doesn’t matter what form of arthritis you have because many of us take the same medications, but mainly because there will be other women that read this blog that have different forms than me. I will have many, many, many more questions…but here are four for starters:

1) First of all, what type of arthritis do you have?
2) What medication(s) were you on during your pregnancy?
3) Did you go into remission?
4) Any complications?

Like I said, I do have more questions, but please feel free to go into as many details about your TTC (trying to conceive), pregnancy, and whatever additional advice you have to offer!
