My surgery postponed to 5/12 due to two of my other medical issues. This surgery has been the worst yet. Along with the pins and screws in my foot, they also had to do a bone graft, taking bone from my shin and putting it in my foot.

The physical therapist has come twice and even though I wasn't supposed to yet, she let me get down on the floor today to play with my daughter and it was amazing!! Getting back up in to my chair was awful, but being able to play with my daughter like we used to do was so awesome!! She suggested I get a skateboard to lay my leg on to help me move myself around when I'm on the floor. She said that I seem to be figuring things out well on my own, so she doesn't think I will have a problem figuring out how to get around when I'm on the floor -- it was really difficult and really painful. In addition to the surgery, I am also in a flare since I haven't been able to take my RA meds, so getting around is even harder...plus, my right arm and hand reconstruction don't help matters either! I am not allowed to have any pressure on my foot for 6 weeks (already have one week down) and the full recovery is 12 weeks. So, life has been very tricky, but my husband has been amazingly supportive...so helpful and patient. I can't be alone, and not just because I have a baby, so I've got help from family and friends. It's been a hard adjustment, but I know it is only temporary. My surgeon told my husband that I would still have full range of motion!

Alrightie...I could still go on and on, but it's dinner time!

My eye is getting better. I still feel a lot of pressure and the vision is still very blurry, however...I actually saw 20/40 through the little peep-hole thingie the day after surgery (4/23)! I haven't seen ANYTHING in months!! It was absolutely amazing to be able to see again. I can't wait until it clears up. I got the far-sighted lens. BTW: I mis-typed my date, surg was 4/22.

I have a lot more to type about, but I have to tend to my precious baby :)

I agree with Obama's plan, too and we don't even need help right now. I just know that down the road, we might need his plan so I don't want to oppose it and it get shot down and then we need it. Plus, I do know so many others who DO need to be covered and Obama's plan is the only way they CAN get covered.

I figured I may as well go ahead and let you all know my stance...as if it isn't obvious...LOL!

I totally agree with Obama's plan! I absolutely loved his address last week and one of my favorite things he said was that he's not going to change what works (and I believe him!).

My husband and I are deeply affected by this crisis and I hope something changes fast!!

1) I have RA, too
2) I was on 10mg of prednisone with both babies
3) I think I did, as I was able to get off of most of my meds
4) Nothing serious

I have to add that my husband is absolutely amazing. After I had my babies, my RA came back with a vengence. My mother-in-law was a great support, in addition to my sister and sister-in-law. My mother really doesn't understand me and she doesn't even try, so I don't even bother anymore. I am grateful for the family that I do have and I love them more and more each day.

Best wishes on motherhood! Message me anytime!!
